65* Weather? Sure...

So while everyone is talking politics, I'm one of those people that are all:

Yes, if it's going to snow, I'd like to get it over with and get my one snow ride in. But at the same time, I'm all about this weather. Especially still putting off the question, "Do I move to a barn with an indoor and can I afford it?"

So what am I doing to pass the time? I'll just leave this here:

Funny story... I still have yet to jump the barrels. But, put a cross-rail up a few holes and rest the poles on the standards to make it even just an inch or two bigger? Yeah, why not. We're getting there!

Pole Work

Trying to get back on track with the pony after Thanksgiving craziness and saddle swaps that didn't work out. Set up some poles to do some trot work but that didn't happen.

Brantley had cruising at top speed around the arena on his mind. He also locked on a couple of barrels which was surprising because normally he's like, "Nah, I don't want to do bend around that." Not today! He's still bored. I need to ride harder and longer. Make things interesting. Get those jumps back up... And work on some pole patterns.

I've become completely obsessed with following HorsePhysio.ch posts on Facebook. If you haven't seen it yet, you need to because that sh*t is amazing.

Here's just a couple screen shot previews...

I still have yet to make some cavalettis but looking at these and watching the videos is really pushing me to figure out the indoor situation this year. I don't really have many affordable options but we'll figure it out. I just really don't want to miss out on progress. Plus... We tried last year to skip it and have the winter to kick back and relax... Did not work out in our favor. At least we tried!

Ugh, I can't wait to ride tomorrow...

Influencing Children

That's a terrible post title but I feel like I've used "Bad Influence" before. And that's exactly what I'm being. As you all know, Kate is one of my dearest and best pony friends... So of course even after she had to give Lucy up, I tried to keep her close and in the saddle. She's definitely built a better bond with Brantley over the last year, but even more so with Ms. Zoe... And so has Hannah...

So I did what any pony auntie would do...

And it took longer for Kate to notice the big red bow than I thought it would. I didn't think it was that lost in my mess of tack.

Long story short, we may or may not have a problem on our hands. And Brantley... You've really got to get your shit together for this little girl. Lead-line? I think so.

Speaking of Brantley, things have finally slowed down and I took advantage of the quick break we got today of rain. Some ground work and refresher of what we learned at E.A., then a free lunge around the arena which he really needed. It's been about 4-5 days since I've ridden and that's just too long. Hopefully tomorrow but the weekend is booking up, unfortunately not work wise.

Things are a little on the quiet side in the pet-sitting world. Next step is flyers and some small business building classes just so I can figure out the tax thing. Also, health insurance. I know a lot of people have an easier time just doing it on the internet but... I'd like to speak with a human please. 2 days, still no one to talk to! I'll try again tomorrow I guess.

Purchased my 2016 Date Book - Can't wait to see what the New Year brings!
